چکیده

Several techniques are available to assess muscle tissue status, including electrical impedance myography (EIM). Despite being used in the assessment of neuromuscular status injury and response exercise, reliability data for hamstrings muscles limited. Therefore, this study aimed determine test-retest EIM components on hamstrings. Twenty-one healthy males (25.3 ± 3.4 years; 173 6.7 cm; 79.7 15.9 kg) volunteered study. Subjects completed two visits, separated by seven days collect (resistance, reactance, impedance, phase angle) longitudinal transversal axis both thighs, using a bioimpedance device Ag/AgCL adhesive contact electrodes. The electrode arrangement was muscular belly, half distance between origin insertion Reliability determined intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), minimal detectable change (MDC), Bland-Altman plots. We observed high excellent (ICC > 0.85) all components, except reactance with MDC ranged from 2.0 10.8 mean bias plots ?0.02 2.48 (95% limits agreement ?9.98 11.20). From our findings, technique is reliable tissue; therefore, it enables evaluation changes/adaptations clinical applied contexts.

Test-retest reproducibility of 50 kHz linear-electrical impedance myography.

OBJECTIVE Electrical impedance myography (EIM) is a method for evaluating muscle in which high-frequency, low-intensity alternating current is applied to a body region and the resulting surface voltage pattern over a muscle of interest is measured. In this study, the reproducibility for the simplest of these techniques, 50 kHz linear-EIM, was assessed for three muscles. METHODS Fifty kilohert...

Test-retest reliability of knee kinesthesia in healthy adults

BACKGROUND Sensory information from mechanoreceptors in the skin, muscles, tendons, and joint structures plays an important role in joint stability. A joint injury can lead to disruption of the sensory system, which can be measured by proprioceptive acuity. When evaluating proprioception, assessment tools need to be reliable. The aim of this study was to assess the test-retest reliability of a ...

Test-Retest Reliability of “High-Order” Functional Connectivity in Young Healthy Adults

Functional connectivity (FC) has become a leading method for resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) analysis. However, the majority of the previous studies utilized pairwise, temporal synchronization-based FC. Recently, high-order FC (HOFC) methods were proposed with the idea of computing "correlation of correlations" to capture high-level, more complex associations among...

Electrical impedance myography detects age-related muscle change in mice

Loss of muscle mass and strength represents one of the most significant contributors to impaired function in older adults. Convenient and non-invasive biomarkers are needed that can readily identify and track age-related muscle change. Previous data has suggested electrical impedance myography (EIM) has the potential to serve in this capacity. In this study we investigated how changes in EIM co...

Test-retest reliability and validity of a custom-designed computerized neuropsychological cognitive test battery in young healthy adults.

OBJECTIVE Dual-task methodologies are utilized to probe attentional resource sharing between motor and cognitive systems. Computerized neuropsychological testing is an advanced approach for cognitive assessment and its application in dual task testing is evolving. This study aimed to establish the test-retest reliability and concurrent validity of a custom-designed, computerized, cognitive test...
